Hayley & Jess are quite possibly one of the most in-love couples I’ve ever spent time with. We decided to do their engagement session in Asheville, NC, simply because we all loved the colors and vibe of Asheville. We started our afternoon at The Sister McMullens Cupcake Corner, and warmed up with some yummy chai and confections (a chocolate cupcake with white frosting, a caramel-filled cupcake, and a ham & cheese croissant were our choices. We’re talkin’ some SERIOUS goodness). We stayed there for a bit before we braved the INSANELY chilly temps outside. As I photographed from the sidewalk outside the bakery, everyone walking by was waving and congratulating Hayley & Jess. They pretty much became celebrities in a matter of minutes! Hayley & Jess spent a few minutes cutting out paper hearts that we used later on at the end of the session. We stopped at several cozy little shops along the way and used their bright, colorful window displays as backdrops. I’ve always been obsessed with the star-lit windows of Chevron Trading Post & Bead Co. on Lexington Ave, so it was a dream to photograph these two lovely ladies there.
Simply CANNOT wait to photograph their wedding this August in Blowing Rock, NC at Camp Sky Ranch. They’ve talked with me a bit about their wedding inspiration, and I’ve heard lots of talk of lanterns, jars, vintage suitcases, and DIY goodness (those are pretty much all my favorite things, EVER). AND, as an added bonus, I’ll be working alongside an AMAZING wedding coordinator, Mariel, with Beautiful Day Wedding Coordination and Shawn from The Inspired Button.
Hayley & Jess- congrats! I love you both!
Here are a few of my favorites from our time together. Enjoy!
Thank you to my fabulous assistant for the day, Abi! You’re awesome, pretty lady!
